He served in the Army and the Air Force during World War II, and was?a?proud member of the American?Volunteer Group, better known as the Flying Tigers, who served in the Burma/China/India Theater.? He?returned to the?States to become a master jet engine specialist who trained thousands of young men to keep the planes safe and at the ready for service.? He was an incredible man, and I miss him dearly.
One of my dad's favorite poems was "High Flight."? This poem hung framed in our home all during my childhood, and I'm proud to share it here today.
Memorial?Day is typically a signal to most that Summer is here, but take a moment to stop and remember those brave men and women who served our country. This day is about them!
